Spring 2015 Leadership Team
Andrea Fancony is the President of the Bauer Women Society, and has been since Fall 2014. She is a business student at the C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston, pursuing a degree in Finance and Management (2016). She graduated from the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in 2012 where she took the initiative of leading and choreographing the first Dance Production at Luanda International School. Andrea decided to transform the concert profits into non-perishable goods and donate them to a local orphanage.
Aside from her philanthropic interests, Andrea is very active academically. At the University of Houston, Andrea has completed the Ted Bauer Leadership Certificate Program (May 2014) and has been the Operations Director of the Bauer Women Society (Spring 13). As an Operations Director, Andrea managed and maintained operations of BWS as she led the organization’s Logistics and Operations Directorate. Her long-term goals include contributing to the economic growth of her country, Angola, by applying academic and professional experiences she acquires abroad into her workplace. Andrea is also very passionate about women empowerment; therefore, she would love to promote the professional development of women in Africa. |
Ann Pacheco is the Vice President of Bauer Women Society. She is pursuing two degrees: Bachelor of Business Administration in Management (2016) and a Bachelor of Science in Biology (2016).
She currently works as an undergraduate research assistant at the University of Houston Texas Obesity Research Center where she has conducted research under Dr. Rebecca Lee for three years and has participated as a co-author in various scientific publications. At the University of Houston, she is also an active member of Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-medical Society and the International Medical Relief team. Aside from her involvement in school, she is passionate about giving back to the community and spends her time regularly volunteering at Texas Children’s Hospital, Ben Taub General Hospital, and San Jose Clinic. Ann has a deep interest in the expanding role of business in today’s health care. After graduation, she plans to attend medical school to undertake a dual degree in a MD/MBA program. |
Aneesa Badat is the Operations Director of Bauer Women Society. She is a student at the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston currently pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Supply Chain Management.
She has been an active Bauer Women Society member since her first semester at Bauer in 2013 and has loved it ever since. She looks forward to working with all officers and members to help BWS rise to the top. Aside from academics and Bauer Women Society, Aneesa enjoys giving back to the community through various events with many different organizations. In the future she hopes to get the opportunity to visit a South African Safari to spend time with the elephants. Aneesa is also fascinated by and would love to explore abandoned areas (architecture afterlife). |
Arsheen Memon is the Finance Director of Bauer Women Society. She was previously the Corporate Relations Director in Fall 2014. She is a Bauer Honors student, pursuing a double major in Finance and Entrepreneurship on a Pre-law track. She aspires to run her own corporate law firm one day. Arsheen has been an active member of Bauer Women Society since Spring 2014, when she was also part of the Finance Directorate.
In her past, she has held various leadership positions around the community and through her years in high school. In the coming spring semester she will be interning at Premier International Realty in their finance and appraisal department. Apart from academics, Arsheen enjoys volunteering her time to help develop skills like reading and writing in younger kids. Arsheen loves fashion and believes in depicting ones personality through how they present themselves. Apart from shopping, in her free time, she enjoys reading, and spending time with her family and best friend. One mantra she always keeps in mind is, "If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, and become more you are a leader" (John Quincy Adams). Her goal is to lead people through example and one day be able to help in creating future leaders of tomorrow. |
Saray Alanis is the Corporate Relations Director of Bauer Women Society. She is a senior, majoring in Supply Chain. She transferred to University of Houston for San Jacinto community college in 2013 and loved how diverse and friendly everyone is here. She is not only involved in BWS but she is also part of the Bauer Global Brigades. Saray has been an active member of Bauer Women Society and participated in the Logistics and Operations Directorate.
Her favorite thing to do is hang out with her four younger siblings and watch Rockets basketball with her husband. She also loves to cook homemade Mexican food and search for new recipes to cook for her family. Apart from that, she likes to relax on the weekend by reading a classic novel and watching her favorite show TWD. Her desire is to one day have a family and a successful career. Being the first in her family to go to college, she hopes to motivate and influence the women around her to accomplish big things! |
Asia Anderson is the Member Relations Director of Bauer Women Society. She is a senior, majoring in Human Resource Management. She currently works as an Administrative Assistant at the Harmony School of Advancement high school.
She transferred from Lone Star College in Spring 2014 and has been a member of the Bauer Women’s Society since Fall 2014. She is now the Member Relations Director. Asia enjoys running 5Ks, event planning and designing, and baking. She hopes to learn more about kinesiology and physical therapy after she graduates. |
Naomi Muchai is the Secretary of Bauer Women Society. Naomi is a Bauer Honors student intending to major in Finance and Management Information Systems (2017). She is interested in the banking industry and would like to be an investment banker. Other than participating in BWS, Naomi graduated from the Ignite Leadership Program (Fall 2014).
She is interested in leadership and management of people and entities. Her long-term dream is to work as a CFO of a major financial service provider and move on to manage her own company. Naomi is passionate about her home country Kenya and Africa as a whole. Her desire is to use her education to empower the women and educate the youth of Africa. |
Rajia Sandhu is the Media Director for Bauer Women Society. She was previously the Finance Director (Fall 2014). Rajia is a student at the C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. She is currently a sophomore/junior pursuing her Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems (2016).
In the past, she has had experience in leadership roles for many organizations. She has had the opportunity of competing in a variety of competitions as well as organizing many events for her community. She hopes to bring a positive change to Bauer Women Society and hopes that with the help of our lovely members we make this semester a great success. Her goal for this semester is to get tons of pictures of all the BWS members, as well as help improve attendance for all of the events. She might be shy at first, but would never give up an opportunity to make new friends! She also loves singing, reading books, and playing basketball. |
Sania Lari is the Community Service Director of Bauer Women Society. She is currently a sophomore/junior at the C.T. Bauer College of Business pursing her Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems.
In the past, she was President of Interact Club which was a group that specialized in local community service projects. Being a part of this organization gave her the opportunity to be involved in events such as Relay for Life, Diabetes Walk, and Senior Living Christmas Caroling & Crafts. Aside from school related ventures, Sania also got the opportunity to work as a Junior Admin at Hostgator this past summer, which led to her refining her technical skills as well interpersonal skills. Currently she works at the Center of Student Involvement at the University of Houston. She gets the privilege of knowing the various student body leaders around campus and gets to be immersed in the different organizations. With these connections, she hopes to help Bauer Women Society become more involved around campus as well within Bauer. Sania hopes she can get everyone else just as excited about the upcoming semester as she is. Be warned she may come off as a very sarcastic person; however, don’t be afraid to approach her for suggestions on hole-in-the-wall restaurants around Houston or what to next binge watch on Netflix. It’s kind of her pastime. |
